This means that as your budget permits, you can add cards until you reach your desired amount of cameras.

If you do not want to use your own pc, then purchase a DVR. A digital video recorder is Windows-based and its sole purpose is to perform surveillance for you. They come in 4, 8, 16, and 32 camera set-ups.
